Things to Consider Doing

Get a Target Red Card. The percentage saved just about covers tax and the card comes with added bonuses. There is an extended return period and free shipping from the website. Plus they now have a debit option, which means you don't have to keep track of one more payment.

Sign up for Target Cartwheel. You can choose from hundreds of items that have a varying percentage off. While 5% off on your oatmeal may not seem like much, it all adds up. I've saved over $40 in the few months I've been using it. You can even print out the barcode from your computer and just have them scan it at the register, no smartphone required.

Sign up for Target mobile coupons. These can be stacked with manufacturer coupons and cartwheel on the same product (but not other Target coupons). Just text OFFERS to 827438 and they will reply with a link.

Sign up for Shopkick. This easy little app gives you points when you walk in to certain stores and even more when you scan items. It also frequently has discounts buried in the app.

Sign up for Hy-Vee Fuelsaver. You not only save on gas but they have also added e-coupons to this card. Very handy for those last minute stops at the store, especially when you don't have any coupons on you.

Sign up for Ibotta. This app gives money back when you buy certain products. They appear on the app and you can earn anywhere from $.25 to $1.50. Once you hit $5 you can transfer it via paypal to checking or savings.

Use Savingstar. This app links to your Hy-Vee card. You choose the offers that appeal to you and when you actually buy them at Hy-vee and scan your fuel saver card the money is credited to your account. Once you hit $5 you can transfer it via paypal to checking or savings.

I know this is a LOT of programs. Choose the ones that you like and start from there. You
don't have to start with all of them in the beginning.
